Akureyri_Hafnafjrur_veturBA thesis in history which Jon Olaf Isberg wrote in 1988 on the premises and the beginning of engine fishery . He describes the changes in fishing population as they happened in the last decades nineteenth century and with beginning of the 20th century, with a fishing rowboat of as center of gravity. Jon Olaf asks here what premises mechanization were what made it possible and necessary. Furthermore, he wonders by himself when mechanization began, who stood behind it, where the funding came from and what men earn in the business.
