From Slaughterhouse to Whale Museum
A new exhibition was officially opened at the Whale Museum in Húsavík in June 2009. The exhibition tells the story of the building hosting the whale museum, which originally was the slaughterhouse and cold storage of Húsavík, but changed into a museum about whales. Pictures, artifacts, interactive slideshows in three languages and recorded testimonials document well how an old, unused building obtained a new purpose.
