Adrepur

Bjarnfríður Leósdóttir was a powerful woman, inside the trade union movements, at the end of the last century. She belonged to the so called "restless league" inside of the Icelandic Federation of Labour. An article she wrote called Ádrepur -stefnumál á Alþýðusambandsþingi was first published in second journal of Language and Culture (Máls og Menningar), in the year 1980 and the article is displayed here of the courtesy of the magazine, unfortunately there is no known English translation of this article.

Report on the movement of migrant workers

Joseph Kristjánsson was one of the leaders of the pressure group for migrant workers. In the second journal of Language and Culture from the year 1980, was an article by written by Jósef, in which he talks about the history behind the creation of the group and describes his vision on how things should be structured, working conditions of migrant workers and dealing with trade union movement and employers.

Letter from Regional doctor

In 1980, the working conditions of migrant workers in Iceland, was very poor in many places. From an unnamed regional health doctor, a letter with description of the situation was delivered to  director general of public health the letter was published in the journal of Langue and Culture (Tímarit Máls og Menningar) 1980.
